What Is Good Public Policy VS. Bad Public Policy?

June 10, 2021

When I was asked to become the Director of Missouri for Special Forces of Liberty© for 2020–2024 I truly had no idea what I really was stepping into. You see, I’m not a lobbyist, I’m not a politician, and I’m not rich. I’m a human Trafficking survivor, victim advocate, naval veteran and mother.

The only thing I could think at the time was, “I must be crazy to be doing this” and “I’m gonna be hated for the rest of my life.” Well, that might be true, but that’s not what these fights are all about.

My ‘mission’ was to show that advocates can work with lobbyist. And politicians to write good policy and not have to pay or bribe or lawmakers into making decisions on the local legislative levels. And it’s working.

For too long in our state capital have Both Democrats and Republican Oligarchs sat on their “thrones” stealing the lives of the American people. Did you know that the Speaker of the House and the Pro Temp of the Senate brought in 800,000 and 750,000 in campaign donations between them? How do you think they retain their seats? It’s all about power and money. Now I’m not truly supposed to talk about this stuff but I do my research and when I found that they pick their positions on cabinets and those seats by the amounts of party donations that are brought in that appalled me.

So it doesn’t matter if you have a doctorate in the applied area where our country needs you, it just matters how much money you can throw at our government.

This brings me back to my original title Good Policy VS. Bad Policy. When we have corruption running so deep within our government where they are using think tanks against us to mimic agendas to their will, what are we to do?

“Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events. It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”

— — • Robert F. Kennedy

Think of those words. Think what he was speaking of. Today we have “Women Empowered Leaders”!

Today we don’t just have men making public policy decisions we have women, minorities, transsexual, many different ethnic groups, many different religious groups….all trying to claim their stake at forming local, state and national public policy on one of the youngest countries in the world.

And here we are not being able to agree to disagree over something as silly as a subject as slavery. And what I mean by that is this. We owned slaves. We brought them here. This country was half way founded on slavery or murder and death. Take what you want and if it was occupied kill and it was yours. Basically today’s version of the governments “Iminent Domain theory”!

My own family walked the trail of tears. And my great grandmother “Tat” survived and was stolen off the reservation by my great grandfather and that’s how my family is here today. But my great grandfather was an Irish/Scottish immigrant as well that was escaping the brutality of the north and the coal mines so he headed west. This is where he saw the horrid things happening to the Native Americans and he and his cousins and a few other rode with militia to circumvent the armies headed west.

This was shocking to me when I heard this as well. That I had freedom fighters in my family from way back then. But that made me think about good and bad policy. Today we are so oppressed by technology and media that we are numb. We do not hear anything except what “they” want us to hear. Well not this “freedom fighter”. I fight for truth and accountability. These are very important to me.

We have officially began a project where we want to here what stories you have. I do not mean ignorant ones but life changing ones. I am an author and a researcher. This opportunity is open to anyone who has been mistreated, abused, a veteran who has something to say or anyone that needs to have an outlet to have a voice.

We are doing this free because I do not believe we should pay for people to have to have a chance to tell their stories. That should be a God given Human right so we are expanding our programming to allow for this opportunity. If you feel like you have something that is policy related and it’s effected you please contact me via that email!

For too long have the “Good Ol’ Boys” sat up in D.C. and not been held accountable for any of their crimes. If we do not hold them accountable how do we expect our state to hold our LEO’s accountable?

We have to start educating each other. When we hear the word “DeFund” the police by one side of the isle individuals don’t understand that the money that was being used that’s being Taken out of those funds that the police were not using are absolutely needed for support for our communities because our state legislature decided to make decisions like not approving bills that would bring in $39,000,000 to our state in grant money to community based nonprofits that work with trauma victims and families or by not approving a legally voted mandate like the expansion of Medicaid, which yes our rural voters DID vote for too.

Something that is going to be highly talked about very soon is the SOCA (Save Our Children Act) Legislation of 2022. Human trafficking must be spoken about in the correct manner in order to be understood properly. The only way for good public policy to be made it to break that down and to understand what each state needs. That is why I am proud to announce I will be spearheading the SOCA Legislation for Special Forces of Liberty in the 2022–2023 legislative in my sophomore term of this position.

You can find the legislation to any state (minus Iowa and Nevada) on our website now.

We truly believe this is a first step towards a good universal step towards adhereing to Universal Policies And Procedures for Human Trafficking. According to International Tiered Guidelines. We are not there yet. It’s one thing to have the laws written and say you are a Tier I country and another to actually implement the laws into actionable results.

It was an Honor to be the Keynote Speaker at the Jefferson County, Missouri Pachyderm Club last night and my good friend City Councilman Ward 2, Tim Seidenstricker from Arnold, Missouri. showed up to support me. That was very nice of him and I was very greatful. Knowing what we do for our community and having our community leaders involved is a huge asset when it comes to transparency and accountability. I challenge our D.C. arena leaders to do the same without lies.

Last nights keynote address was recorded and will be put up on my YouTube channels soon. Thank you.
