WHEN NEW YORK COMES TO MISSOURI…
You would think that when New York comes to Missouri that it would be big news! Normally. Twenty years ago I was awakened by my sons father telling me that I needed to come into the living room and look at the tv because New York and America was under attack. That was September 11, 2001. I was 5 months pregnant with my son, Joseph. I had gotten out of the Navy in September of 1998 so I was still in my 8 years of reserves that I had to serve after discharge.
I will never forget the feeling I felt that day. I had worked security for the Goodwill Games in 1998 in New York City right under the Trade Towers and could not believe what I was seeing. (If you had never seen those towers then you simply don’t know how big they were).
I had gotten to the living room just in time to see the first tower fall. And I fell. I couldn’t believe it. We were at war. I didn’t need to hear the declaration. I knew it was coming. It had only been three years since I left my post in Washington D.C. I didn’t Need to hear it.
Then the second tower fell. Then everything was foggy. And my phone rang. It was a 202 area code. I knew again. D.C. was calling. I was five months pregnant, had not told anyone of my past life of who I was, where I had been in my past life, as I called it, and now we were at war.
I answered and went through the barrage of questions and I got stood down for S&R since I was 5 months pregnant and on bed rest. I cannot tell you how torn I felt at that time. I felt like I was derelict in my duties as a soldier and emergency response worker and citizen when I couldn’t Go help. I also betrayed a lot of people (in their eyes) because all of a sudden they had no idea who I was. I had lost their trust.
Not everyone was pro-military at that time nor still is, you see. Some in this country still believe that the military is sneaky and I don’t get that but it’s that intersectionality and division between the “civilian” world and the “military” life I suppose now that I’m older and I understand it.
Here we are now, in 2021, and we are arriving on the 20 year anniversary of 9/11 and what do we have to show for it?
- Division in our ranks
- We just pulled out of Afghanistan and left all our tanks and supplies for the Taliban to pick up (sound repetitive?).
- We killed more Muslim and Arab civilians in 20 years than we did terrorists.
- We have a whole new generation of soldiers with physiological wounds for a war we wonder why we were fighting in the first place after 9/11 ended and Bin Laden was killed.
- After Iraq and then the conspiracy theories into 9/11 it’s only fair for our media to clog you down with rhetoric right before our anniversary of this 9/11 with political yuckiness.
I have been asked why I attended the event this weekend with Former Governor Eric Greitens and Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani and NYPD Former Commissioner Bernard Kerik. Also speaking was Veterans for Trump Chair Co Chair for Women’s for Trump Jessie Jane Duff. Boy can she shout off some cadence!!!
I went because for a few reasons. First of all, I am now the new Missouri State Leader for Region 2-Missouri for the RPN (Republican Party Network).
This means I HAVE to speak to every candidate and and official candidate in the Republican Party here in Missouri and connect with them to let them know that in order for them to connect with the RPN they have to speak to our Regional Director and National Director and I have to actually hand our cards out. And that’s what I did. We see who here in the Republican Party is actually interested in supporting goals to restore the Republican Party back to its roots. Back to when it stood for common sense and principled Values.
- Producing the Declaration of Parental Rights for K-12 education
- Fighting CRT in schools
- Supporting the fight against Human Trafficking and supporting the 2022 SOCA legislation in all 48 states which the democrats failed to do last year.
- Backing our pro-life legislation across the board.
- Border Security to include not only the southern border but our ports and northern borders as well. This will include immigration fights as well.
These are the key fights facing us nationally. There are 4 regions within the RPN and each region has split these tasks evenly. Region 2 is the Midwest and the Midwest will be tackling CRT and Human Trafficking with Region 1 which is the West of us as well.
The second reason I went was to simply have closure on my own story from 20 years ago for myself and for my son. In 1998 I left New York planning to bring my children back there one day and I’ve never been back because of what happened that day. I told the Commissioner that. He just hugged me. He understood. And when I spoke to Eric Greitens? He remembered me from the Army/Navy game in 2016 which was honestly the last time I saw the man in person before he went through his own dilemmas. But who am I to judge one for past actions when I too have overcome the worst and look where I am?
We American citizens often tend to judge individuals based off of merits that we all too often don’t understand or that we only read in the papers or that we side with along party lines, but everyone must remember I have been no affiliated til just recently. I want to speak to all the candidates. I want to know where they all stand on these issues. This was a way for me to let his campaign staff know who I am for this election cycle and let them know I am here when they need me for Missouri.
Right after we announced that we went the good and bad started coming in. I started receiving good messages and bad as well. I never thought I’d have to explain to individuals that I was not endorsing this man, simply going to speak to him. The night before he spoke a news article came out that “Trump was not endorsing Greitens” here in Missouri. Ok….if that were true then his whole campaign would not be ran endorsed by military individuals. The same organizations that backed Trump back Eric. It’s that simple. They were there. Bikers for Trump was there. Women for Trump was there. So I don’t understand the article. If we were to believe what the left puts out there it will keep the party split.
In Texas this weekend, a CPAC is going on and Dr. Bob Onder is down there with Former President Trump and some others and I’ve already gotten feedback from Dr. Eric Nepute even that he would have been at the Eric Greitens event had he been in town. It’s a pick or choose event right now.
While I was there I was interviewed by Freedom News TV out of New York City.
I couldn’t help it I had to wear my stats and stripes cowboy hat lol. It’s my tribute to my buddies in Texas when I’m missing them lol. And I do miss them. They are working very hard, our team is to secure our Human Trafficking and Child Prevention problems down on the border which are completely different than the Human Trafficking issues that we have in the Midwest or the northeast. You see, our country is so diverse and large fighting our human trafficking issues is almost looking at a model like a tiny world sphere. We kinda have to because of the diverse terrain and population density and cultures we have that make up our country. There is so many things that make America well…America that it also makes it very hard to trap, trace and track these crimes properly in the past. That is until now. With proper training and the help of Survivor Consultants being brought to the forefront in our country with the help of recognized international leaders we are starting to get a grasp of the correct training techniques and employment action efforts we need to apply to our LEO’s and other arenas to secure effective operations for the future.
